Re: 2011/12 Storm chase DVD - taking orders now

Hey Robyn, at this stage we'd prefer orders to go through the paypal system for consistency and to give everyone confidence that we're not shonks! :) Hope you can sort out the problems with your account. If not, let me know and we'll sort out your order another way, no worries.

The DVD includes 4 hours of HD video of supercells from southeastern Australia and all the madness that comes with them. This has been an epic productio...

Re: Victoria - Trough - Potential heavy rain 15-16 March 201

Scored some nice structure north of Craigieburn tonight as the line came through. Seemed an embedded cell was drawing in inflow from the north east just as the sun was going down as inflow streamers were evident to me in the fading light. It then transitioned into a tightly curved shelf structure wi...

Re: DEC 18th - VIC/NSW supercells

Hey Michelle, the storm was very close as I think you have noticed. The stitched pano with the highway is comprised of many wide angle photos so you can imagine just how close the storm was. I would suggest the distance of the main structure and wall cloud was about 400-500m away. It was an enormous...

Re: DEC 18th - VIC/NSW supercells

This is the Hay-maker HP supercell that we intercepted and core punched after dropping the Chinkapook classic supercell! Look closely and you may see something hidden in the background :) Plenty more pics including close ups of this beast are coming soon. http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8154/hayp...

Re: VIC Trough, Heat, Showers, Thunderstorms, etc Feb 15-19

As the storms first moved over north of Bundoora, one cell exhibited some corkscrewing rotation through the mid levels and there was even a cone lowering which was drawing up scud as it was over the Plenty Gorge area. I couldnt chase today but got to watch some of the show and listen to constant thu...

Re: VIC: Low Pressure System (10/2-?)

Great pics there Hamlan! :D I especially like the first one, looks like it was taken on the Tullamarine Freeway (northbound lane) near the Western Ring Road interchange yes? Really nice storm structure there. :) Was there much lightning (including CGs) around the time these pics were taken? There w...

Re: VIC: Low Pressure System (10/2-?)

Preety much as I expected earlier Today with showers and storms missing the Melbourne area, the setup was all wrong for us. Showers and storms didn't miss the Melbourne area. It rained in Bundoora and my pics above show organised areas of a complex of storms that moved across the outer northern sub...

Pics of the storm that moved across the northern suburbs late this arvo. I saw a large base feature further north of my location but I couldnt get a shot and it was quickly obscured by rain. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2585/p1000069s.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/6329/p1000077w.jpg htt...

Re: Victoria: Trough of low pressure influence - 17th-22nd J

Lack of good shear through depth was my main concern when considering the setup for Sunday. Will keep an eye on it though cos with north easterlies at the surface all day you never know. If a storm gets up it could be nice. Next model run will be interesting but not holding my breath.
