Re: Adelaide/South Australia: Day to Day Weather Talk

Bit of a dry period now before the SAM crashes negative again - large slow moving high, good gardening weather at least. SST's warmed a little off NW WA and cooled in the western Indian whilst warming in the central Indian....dare I say Indian modoki like...but may cool again when SAM goes negative....

Re: Wet Season 2009/2010 (Northern Territory)

Got absolutely dispatched this morning, very angry thunderstorm moved in from the east and essentially exploded right over Darwin, slow moving with strong convergence at its leading edge, probably a gulfie pushing into a trough on the coast with very heavy falls, 209mm at the uni, 65mm at work here,...

Re: South West WA, Storms 21/3 - ?

This mornings trace was conducive to 4-6cm and I warned my mates there of the likelyhood. Greg copped 1.5inch hail on way to work from the first cell and my mate messaged me to say he had 2inch hail from the second HP monster line. Was a beauty, exhibited nice bowing on the radar (as crap as Perth r...

Re: South West WA, Storms 21/3 - ?

Greg Spencer just called me as he is driving through Ocean Reef. Currently experiencing 1.1.5inch hail, I could hear the cracks on the car, extremely loud and random, BANG BANG, vis dropping down to 200m on freeway, stacks of CG lightning as well. And the cell further N is a lot stronger, def the st...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Brad and John just found another 2.7km wide path of damage....unsure of type, significant tree damage as big if not worse...no stronger than EF1 winds....unsure as to whether it was a tornado as cant follow the path....but certainly significant...may have been microburst with gustnado damage. We al...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

TS, Tell Ben that he needs to get out the way of that embedded supercell ASAP.....if it catches him he may cop not only a hail pounding but a tornado wrapped in the rain. Not sure if he realises that lol...there is massive curvature behind the line from the SC, looks like a classic Rear Inflow Jet ...

Ben now tearing down highway to Bennalla, reports of huge green guster, I've got him east of it, hope he can get closer to suspect area, Shane E was near Nurkamah, had to take shelter, narrow core and is now going to look for damage etc. Ben still in hunt though with clear air.

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Ben is 40km west of Finley, reporting 2cm hailstones in huge drifts, hail fog and trees snapped in half like matchsticks. Now given echo wasn't bow shaped there, seems like poss tornado damage hard to say just going by radar.

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Brad and John are absolutely loving it.,....raining daytime CGs.....with an enormous HP supercell of the same magnitude as melbourne yesterday. Its utterly mind blowing, may have produced a tornado. Passed through Wakool and continuing to run east. Glad they have gone east as I wasn't sure what the...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Chasers need to stay east of the line, the hp supercell west of Hay is taking a 150degree track, bowing a little as well now. Ben tracking back to Deniliquin, took wrong road and will take road that goes wnw 10km N of Deniliquin. Be beasts further up line as well out of radar range, but best storm a...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

That storm NW of Hay is a PEARLER. Absolute PEARLER. To be that intense that far away from the radar with such a solid round core shows how severe it is. Ben tracking out of my range won't need to go that far west, must stay east moving more left of mean flow.

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Bout time I came on here, special setup yesterday and also very special today N of the border. I am currently guiding Ben (sewaorthy) who has chased from Adelaide. He was in Deniliquin and is now heading NW towards Moulamein or whatever it is called. Roads and views very good, was cluttered before b...
