Re: Greg's Photos, Reports and creative thoughts

Thanks guys, To answer the technique question for this one, there were only minor alterations made in PShop mainly because i got the shot that was after in the camera. I have a personal preference of not using the HDR function in PS as i can usually achieve a balanced exposure in shadows, mids and h...

Re: Greg's Photos, Reports and creative thoughts

Ok, have been putting up some images on my new website. More of my favourite images from the past 4 years will trickle onto it, there's the majority still to go, eeek. I also have to insert a shopping cart system at some stage, and probably a page for my illustration / painting work, in addition to ...

Re: Greg's Photos, Reports and creative thoughts

thanks again for your kind comments guys. To answer john's question, the scene was fairly monochromatic as i as looking directly into the sun, so most of the colour was bleached, with only a little yellow and sepia from what i could see. I tried to replicate this with a little desaturation, but not ...

Re: Rikki Pool-Reports and Pics.

I remember that night Rikki, one of my fav lightning feasts. I was still living in Adelaide at the time and starting my chase in the Riverland SA, when the first wave of severe storms developed around Renmark, which took me to Mildura, then down towards the Murraylands by dinner time. After a very f...

Re: Victoria: Warm and becoming unsettled. April 4th-??? 2

Bad timing of the trough for central areas really. If the trough was sitting further east by this avo then i'd say you would have been better set up to see a storm activity locally.

Re: Victoria: Warm and becoming unsettled. April 4th-??? 2

Bloody heck, what a crazy area of activity. Problem could be the cells becoming disorganised and outflow dominant, making it very difficult to extract nice clean structure and bolts in film.

Re: Storm Chasers

I take this series with a grain of salt. Very enjoyable, very American with larger than life characters. If in the long run Reed Timmer's close proximity radar and probes, along with Wurman's Vortex team and Twistex are able to use their data for the greater good, then great. I think because Reed Ti...

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

I always use to love going to see photographic exhibitions in Melbourne, so many galleries support this medium. I strongly urge those who love photography to make sure you take the full advantage of what you have in your wonderful city. I dearly miss it, but i do have a few options here in Canberra....

Welcome to this great weather family everyone! I've been a little quiet due to working interstate for the past couple weeks, so keen to get back on board. The snow season is just round the corner, can't wait.

RAIN AND STORMS FOR SE NSW

Today has started off with some good rain, just in time to wet the washing....errrrrrrr. A good little system and nice end to the season with a well defined trough sitting over us for 2-3 days. Good in feed of moisture this morning, fairly muggy with some heavy showers over head atm. Most models giv...
