Re: What Camera do you have?

Congrats, great purchase! I know that Tim Thorpe (Hillsrain) from SA bought the D300 last year and he's rapt. You should contact him if you need some advice, just mention my name and he will help you out. The man thoroughly goes through his cameras, testing all of their functions, so gets the most o...

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

Hey John, I recently purchase a 17mm Tilt Shift Lens. I know that Nikon is releasing a range of their own soon, if not already. Canon produces 17, 24, 45 and 90mm, and came in response to people struggling with vertical objects such as posts, lines of windows, anything really, in wide angle shots. H...

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

You'll have to get yourself down to the southern coast matey, loads of coast line to work with, in particular with your filter set up. Only prob will be an early start and it's winter soon, so waders is a must.
Tried it once with just wet shoes down at Pt.Cook and froze my arse off.

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

Went to Pebbly Beach over the long weekend. I finally got to use my new filters, even though out of the 3 days i had only one good sunrise to work with. (although the colour didn't last long). Only had a quick glance so far at my images straight off the camera, and i'm pretty impressed by the outcom...

Re: NSW Inland rain and storms 5th-8th March

It's like paradise. I got sniffed by a Joey Roo, met a friendly brush tailed possum, had a blue water cap stolen by a bower bird, haven never seen so many iconic birds in one place in my life. Together with an amazing beach, temperate rainforest and hinterland, what more could one want? Will be back...

DJ....while that was a no-brainer from two days out the Bureau failed to do so....Rain. Chance of storms? That isnt a forecast...thats just ignoring it hoping it will go away...and they did it from less than a day out. At a minimum there should have been a forecast of Storms. And if there was such ...

Re: NSW Inland rain and storms 5th-8th March

Pebbly Beach which is about 30kms north of Bateman's bay missed all of the action. Only light to moderate showers occurred over the long weekend. Bit of rumble on Monday morning but nothing to excited about.

Re: NSW Inland rain and storms 5th-8th March

I think that Canberra will walk away with around 40mms from this event. Good top up rains. I will be down at capming beach called Pebbly Beach, which is just north of Batemans Bay. I think on Sunday we will get up to 60mm, i think the totals have been underestimated for the south coast. If we get a ...

NSW Inland rain and storms 5th-8th March

Some great totals coming through already as the Low from QLD sinks sth through NSW, onto Vic. When the other low from the Bight comes through we'll some widespread heavy falls round southern NSW, just in time for my long weekend camping trip. Broken Hill had 97 over night with Menindie and Pooncarie...

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

It certainly does Jane. The other problem that is evolving is the use of LED lights, which i'm all for in terms of energy efficiency, but they can be dull at times and lack a real ambience. I guess an even exposure is desired. It's a fine balance, esp in outdoor lighting with 'spot' lights, or featu...

Re: GREG'S VARIOUS PHOTOS & REPORTS

You guys are funny:) Nah, i could never afford the work my company does for other people, i don't get paid enough, but my job does come with perks. If you are ever shooting pools, real estate or architecture in general, got a tip: Turn as many lights on as you can, and wait for 20 mins after sunset,...
