light to moderate rain here in Mansfield for the lat hour 3mm so far but judging by the radar things are going to get heavier with two chunky showers/storms approaching from the NW.
We haven't seen a great deal of rain here over the past fortnight. In fact we have had just 12mm since the 5th.
A little bit of rain so far tonight with the odd heavy burst. We have that little low forming by tomorrow morning so I expect the rain to intensify overnight and early tomorrow. Another 20 odd mm will get us over 100mm again for yet another month. Our summer total here is sitting on 375.6mm which is roughly 215mm above average.
We're already over 10mm i'd suspect, roof gutters overflowing and rain has been torrential for the best part of 10 minutes now. Will report back in the morning how much we had.
Expect 10-20mm by morning and quite a few 30mm+ in the SW off the state, some Huge 50-80mm falls in SA today along the coast and in the mounts not as much here though as she picks up speed and weakens a bit
Real classic NW rain band huge area of light to moderate falls hopefully see alot of these in the next 6 months
Radar looks great atm but rain is now quickly clearing from the west and easing so only few hours left of rain here

That is basically what we need now - the massive heavy tropical rain events to end and to settle back in to a nice period of regular bands/fronts coming through dropping 10-30mm falls here and there. If we could somehow get that to happen and avoid slipping back in to a really dry El nino phase whilst recovering from the floods, then I suspect a lot of our farmers and fruit growers will have some of the best years they've ever had.
Well I've had pretty boring light rain for hours now, at least it's good soaking rain, but over the last 5 minutes it's turned into a moderate rain band, hopefully it will continue!
Finished with 13mm here. Brings my weekly total to 80mm here and that is certainly no waste of moisture and lucky that is all that fell. Don't want destructive floods again.
My monthly total now is 309.4mm for the month!!!
Year to date is 431.6mm!!!! No chance in hell of going brown before winter!!! Lovely green out there!!
A warm and windy day today with decreasing humidity later as winds shift drier westerly.
38.6mm in Trentham, very windy atm, gusting to 56kmh but the average speed is steadily rising, rain for the month 134.2mm and for the year 358.6mm - that's about 30% of our average!!

No waiste of the Moisture here.. 24mm here + the 28mm Wednesday evening takes me to 52mm for the past few days which is another months rainfall in a just 3 days here certaintly not a waiste here!
That'd be correct Tilda, we had 38mm since approximately midnight and looking at the radar archive each little heavy band intensified further after passing us here.
