Yep, definitely looks like a short contrail left behind by a high flying aircraft. It's a fairly common sight when jet aircraft fly through air in the upper atmosphere which isn't quite moist enough to support a long contrail of ice crystals but there's still enough moisture to support a short one which evaporates a short distance behind the aircraft.
