If the SAM stays positive this will become a very frustrating year given the moisture availability from both the Indian and Pacific oceans. Anticyclonic dominance always gets me worried.

Oh dear, it's not looking good. Now looking at below average rainfall.

If the SAM stays positive in winter then shifts negative late spring - ouch again!

Was hoping for a wet Winter with a positive SAM that looks unlikely.
High pressure is already starting to dominate us :x :x

Highs and more high. Will start a thread for the week of highs. Hopefully it isn’t a month of highs :o

Nice nice day in the Nongs yesterday with a min of 5 and a max of 8C at our place. Very strong microclimates at play with a white frost in the lower parts of the garden, but only a light dew at higher parts.

Down at Walkerville for the weekend and we’ve got fog and thick drizzle atm. The front in Bass Strait has been stalled over us all night. Near 10mm in the gauge which is a bit of a surprise. The edge of the showers is near Kilcunda so areas to the south have had widely 5-10mm, while spots to the north have had zilch. It is progged to break up as it edges north today.
