Had a minor storm go through about an hour ago. Big drops of rain. Not much in it however. Down to 30 degrees now. Beautiful

Nice damp start to the event, 5mm. Very squally.

I had put off watering the garden hoping for something decent so happy thus far.

Just a few spits of rain here before no thunder. Not enough to register in the gauge.
So still sitting on 0.2mm's for the month and Ballarat Airport still on zero.

Have been away holidaying in Inverloch and camping on Phillip Island for the past 3 weeks. Our run of awesome warm, sunny January weather came to an end tonight when this cool change rolled through:

Not much rain but did get some strong squalls.

Was at Melbourne airport when those storms came through yesterday. Unfortunately Jetstar so windows are small and didn’t really get a decent shot. Lots of dust and haze and quick mm or two. It fired up just east of the Ap.

Now back in Tas. Rainy morning. Tis very humid with a Dp of 17C and cloud base at about 100m. 2mm so far. Progs have decent falls for here today, but radar doesn’t agree. Looks like our very dry January is likely to continue. Max of 28C here yesterday. I do like it that we miss most of the scorchers down here :D

Pattern shift coming up with an upper trough and surface trough dominating. Expect patchy moderate to locally heavy falls for the weekend into next week :D

11.2mm here. Just under a mm with the storm yesterday, which didn't really get going until it had passed us, and the rest from overnight showers. Very welcome, but could definitely do with more!

Currently 15.6c with fog and drizzle. Got up to 34c yesterday.

Cool down here this morning with another 0.4mm of rain. Was a nice shot of cold air and coldie convection that just touched the southern tip of tas, with quite heavy falls south of here overnight (locally over 20mm), but unfortunately the rain/no rain line was at about our place. Webcam suggests a very light dusting of snow fell at Kunanyi/Wellington.

New thread time. Long warm spell replace with a long lived trough. The next system looks more Tas focused :D
