Managed to get under a tongue of the heavier stuff and had 8mm's in just over half an hour.
Further east not much at all - Ferny Creek has not made it to 1mm yet.
Heavier down Geelong Way with Avalon 16mm's since 9am.
A liitle bit more to come I hope.
Long time since I posted. Thought I'd update on the near Ballarat rainfall. Just eased off now, but had 26mm since it started around 8am.
Garden, dam and water tanks all appreciative!
Massive failure of the forecast models over much of the Northern Country today. Hard to believe that most models were suggesting 30-50mm just before the event. BOM were warning of possible flooding of rivers.... Actual rainfall - 5mm.

May still be in with a shot, the low is still out west:
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/radar/vic" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; with rain on the Western and Eastern quadrants. The rain on the Western quadrants could still wrap around into Northern country as low moves east...plus there could be instability for rain/cells to form whilst the low pressure system hangs around...rain is going to continue to form around this low as long as it is here so as long as it isn't right over the top of you, you are in with a chance

Don't like my chances tbh. We rarely get much in wrap-around cloudbands from the SW because we're in a rain shadow by then.
Barely 10 minutes of the really heavy stuff, but at times it was seriously heavy. It looks like there's about 12 or 13mm in the gauge from it. I was hoping for at least 20mm from this system, so unless some storms develop in behind the main band (which is vaguely possible according to GFS) it's going to fall short again.
Most models still going for showers for many areas tomorrow with EC looking the most promising, so it's not necessarily all over yet for inland central.
It's virtually been going non-stop here at work with only a mini break in-between. Enjoying it while I can. It will be back to the usual western desert dry conditions before you know it.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
Raining here again for the past 30 mins. It's lovely! I'd be watching this afternoon in the southwest to see if any thunderstorms can get going. With the low sitting just off the coast there in Bass Strait there is certainly potential looking at the other variables. One to watch!

13mm up on the mountain and 10 here at Bolobek, not exactly biblical but better than nothing, so I'm happy with that.
Great falls in some low -rainfall areas of the state. Very happy for the people in those areas.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m
Very heavy and thick drizzle here definitely feels like a mountainous climate. 5mm from the second lot so far giving us 18mm so far today. Happy as can be.
I did a double take when I read your 18mm stevco, had to double check what we have had. We've had just 5.3mm, I even checked other stations in the area in case there was something wrong, but they're all reporting approx 5mm locally.
