Raining steadily here in Scarsdale since around 6pm. 12mm so far, and looking like quite a bit more over the next few hours. Good, steady, soaking rain. Just what we need
Was just looking at the radar & checking out the Access C chart Jasmine posted earlier. Absolutely spot on!
Can't get over how slow it's all moving. Certainly going to be some great totals out west.

The whinging is annoying. Particularly from those who live in historically dry parts of the state, or who live in a rain shadow that’s been there for tens of thousands of years complaining a rainband or line of storms missed them. Well duh, if you don’t like it then move out of the rain shadow or go chasing!
Obviously a comment directed at someone like myself from which I will choose to completely ignore.
First drops just starting to fall here.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
First drops starting here too. The wind has died now as well. Haven’t looked at the rainfall totals further west, but judging by the radar, it must be adding up nicely with the rainband almost stationary out there.
15mm so far, ticking along nicely. Totals are getting juicy in the SW and parts of central Upper low is starting to circulate north of here, surface low should follow and intensify the squeeze zone. Should get quite heavy in a few hours.
Ahh, it's landing on my new Colorbond roof,
Ahhh I can't hear it we filled it with so much insulation,
Ahh. But fire didn't go out its dry inside and 17c
Ahhh Let. It rain. 0.8mm so far.
Love seeing the Western West getting rain in mt William on 37.
The Doppler looks amazing, really showing the rotation. Some good totals out west and going to be a wet morning in the city. Lousy day to be a truck driver but I will cope, at least we have rain. Be safe out there people.
Painfully slow system, which is favouring northern parts of central as expected. 4mm here so far. Still expect about an inch here. Clocking up nicely in west central through north central which is long over due.
Also, a final autumn break for parts of the west. Locals in Mildura will be confused with the second proper rain day for the month, after the virtually rainfree January to April
Don’t like the progs for next week. Big highs again
Amazing rain here, we've hit 30mm and still teeming down. Brings us to 110mm mtd and we're one of the 'drier' stations locally; looking at the radar rainfall totals, some of my neighbours have got more overnight and they had more to begin with, so there will be places nearby which will hit 150mm mtd today; heading towards double the monthly average for May and it's only the 10th!
Btw I can't make any sense of the way the rainband is behaving - went to bed and streaming down from NNW, wake up it's coming from SSE and basically hasn't moved. Hope it moves east soon - we've had our share.
