Watching that cell with interest, hopefully it makes it over the Peninsula.

Direct hit!!! Sheeting rain thunder. Was a fast mover so won't register alot, my old man is down the island Skywalker, power on and I've been hearing. Hopefully you get it!

It dumps just moved too quickly to really soak in. But I'll take it!

Edit: Looked like it lost some punch as it went over Red Hill, how'd it turn out Skywalker??

Yep, power just came back on. Going to run to the shops before it goes off again. :P

Unfortunately that cell weaken by the time it crossed the water. We ended up with a 30 second shower with no lightning.
We may end up with an opportunity for further rain if the radar is anything to go by. Unfortunately I think that will be it for thunder activity though.

Yeah was watching it on radar, thought that may be the case, the way it's tracking it seems just from talking to my old man down there, whatever hits us here seems to hit Cowes. I'll keep ya informed haha. Fingers crossed!!

If that fire in Bundoora doesn't get rain or is put out soon, I'd be crapping myself if i live anywhere between there and Kinglake

Still got power,
Massive branch down not far up road which now has a rubbish bin with sign saying live wires,
Glad they've not been to fix it for 3.5 hours so far as they would turn our Power off, like the last one that came down near by not long back.
Looks to be a storm here very soon.
Far too hot last few days..

0.8mm in FC so far. Main rainband is that near Mt Gambier. Should be worth 2-5mm, perhaps over 10mm parts of east central. Only 80mm to our monthly average in the Nongs...

Feel like radar is over estimating, we had a nice green and yellow patch over us and had F all. Hopefully not the same for the fire effected areas

I’m at UTAS Stadium in Launceston for the BBL game - rain has stopped play. Earlier there was lightning close to the ground.

0.6mm here. It looked greater on the radar, so I wonder if some of the rain is virga. Heard one rumble of thunder but it was fairly distant. 28c currently, so at least it’s a bit cooler until the proper change arrives. The next band of showers looks a couple of hours or so away.

That band near the border is really firing. Lots of strikes.

Other cell which is active is over the big fire near Mallacoota and is a big PyroCb. They used to be very rare (only in the very worst fire seasons), this one’s the second in Vic in a week :(

Up to 1.3mm in FC, and about 0.4mm in Walkerville.

Watched the 2nd line of storms roll in at Frankston, managed to pull some structure out of the fug with some creative processing
