MTD is 218mm which makes it the wettest month ever recorded in Bendigo (data from 1865). And the month isn't over yet

Previous wettest October was 207mm in 1975, previous wettest month was Feb 1911 with 214mm.
And you had such a dry period prior.. I was sure you guys mentioned missing out on a fair bit of the moisture..
All or nothing..

We have missed the big totals. The radar look like a piece of pie was missing around about 1 to 3 on the dial as that band came through..

Huey.. slow up dude. !
Yes, we had a fairly dry July, and August was just above average. But September and October have been ridiculously wet. Too much so. On track for our wettest Spring on record (could be broken next weekend) - currently on 330mm, record is 366mm in 1870 (there's that year again!). And slight correction, Bendigo rain records go back to 1862.

Doesn’t ‘feel’ like a severe storm day for Melbourne to me despite what the BOM forecast says. But what do I know.

Light rain here most of the morning, but it's far from over. 29mm since 9am at Walpeup is ridiculous. There'll be problems around there now.

The coming weekend and into early-Nov looks interesting to say the least. Good old-fashioned polar blast in the offering for several days, including for the Melb Cup.

Been a murky day here with humidity rising. Spotty rain now. Heavy falls have just started to creep into northeast Tasmania.

Expecting at least 50mm here, and possibly over 100mm. Will be much than 100mm I’m the usual wet spots in northeast Tas.

Rain totals in northern Victoria are ridiculous. Has barely been a front for months, just these slow moist, barely budging troughs and cutoffs. Strange times and not good for farmers now with the rain just pulling up.

Pouring rain tonight and warming up. 12° now, it had been stuck on 10° for the whole daylight period. Cold for late October. Only 11.4° yesterday as well.
We are up to around 250mm for the month. It's often dry-ish here in October. Not this year.
YTD is now around 1030mm already.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m

Hadn’t rained for days - until - I put the washing out…

That wind had dried things out very quickly so this drizzle is welcome,
I’m tipping I’m the only one in the area thinking so..

Feeling tropical down here this morning. Cloud base is at sea level with murk and drizzle which is slowly getting heavier. DP is 11C and slowly rising. EC has over 100mm here next couple of days. Would not be surprised. The low is now near Gabo Island and should be near St Helen’s tomorrow.

VIC is about to go into the westerly part of the low, so rain will shift to favour eastern areas which face west.

Btw check out the low for Sunday. Few days out, so may change but geez.Image

Cold light-the-fire day yesterday, but feels like Sydney this morning. Another 7mm makes 156mm mtd, which is a new October record for our 26 years here.

Very strange weather, and looking more and more like a properly cold system for early next week on the back of hillybilly's low :? .

49mm all up for the event. 228mm MTD at Bendigo AWS. Everything is soaked, but thankfully the rivers haven't risen much around here overnight.

Hopefully next week's front blows out this humidity to let the crops (or what's left of them) ripen.

That’s the low that gives eastern VIC and eastern Tasmania heavy rain later in the week. The current low near Coffs and the other near Mildura slowly drift south and interact, with the eastern low edging west.

Been a cold couple of days down here with a bit of snow on the mountain. Easterlies have now kick in so expecting showers to pick up today, and warmer air.

VIC is messy stuck between two lows so action mainly in the west and east and a bit of a hole in the middle. All very dynamic. The heavy falls overnight in the Mallee and Wimmera must be causing issues with the crops?? :?
....and the Qld-born low has deepened and rapidly moved down offshore of the NSW coast last night to be impacting Merimbula now, the low over NW Vic is now occluded with its remaining moisture now fuel for the newly arriving East Coast Low. A large rain blob is present in Bass Straight, so it will be interesting to see if it wraps around into Vic in the coming hours - keep an eye on the sat loops.

Here we had 3.5mm in light overnight drizzle, a repeat of near same tally in the early hours of yesterday.

3mm from some showers on sunrise here.

Geez it’s muggy out there now, feels like it would go pop any minute if there wasn’t so much mid level junk around obscuring the sun.

Radar indicates its starting to go pop now but cells are very slow moving.
So unless a cell goes pop very near you then yopu will probably get nothing.

Very heavy here too, and it's barely budging on the radar.
