That said, we just had 45 minutes of lovely proper snow. It didn't settle the way the grapes did this morning but it was lovely to watch big fat flakes falling into our verdant green flowery garden.
3.3° to 6.6°max for us today. 4.7° now.
Relieved to hear that, would have been plain wrong if you missed out after the day we've had!

We got to 12.4c for a max today. Coldest November day since Nov 15, 2006.

October rainfall ended up as 240mm. Nearly half our annual rainfall in one month.

Worth noting that we have had 432mm in the past three months.

Just had a shower go through with some rather quite soft, deformed hail falling for about 2 minutes. Tried to take video footage of it hitting my jumper and not bouncing off, but ofcourse my phone died right there and then 😡😡😡

5.8 degrees now

One of those big lows that basically goes north and south of Tasmania and leaves us with low pressure but not much weather. Mostly light winds yesterday, sunny and cold and dry air. Was the odd coldie, but really sparse. If you got one was lots of hail and graupel, but most spots missed them.

Managed to chase the hail storm that hit hobart up the sides of Kunanyi in the car :D Started at 13C and finished at 4C (with an elevation gain of just 400m :o ). Was snowing on the backside of the storm at 300m. Crazy. Five minutes later popped out into the Huon valley and it was sunny and dry.

Very wintery night with just about every shower having hail in it. Must be a very cold airmass as i haven't had frequent hail like that in 3 or 4 years

I just tipped out 40mm for yesterday and overnight. Remarkable difference to the Nilma AWS 6km to our NE.

Looking back through the radar archive it looks like the heavy shower streams favoured our side of town. Like you Stevco we also seemed to get hail in most showers so lots of wake ups during the night.

And only two days into November we’ve already 60mm MTD. On top of last weeks rain, we’re now more sodden then we were in August. Memorable.

8mm in the gauge from the past two days. Only 3degC this morning - thankfully no frost.

Someone has posted a video of the damage below Eppalock Dam. The landscape has radically changed and GM water have got a huge job on their hands to fix it:

Just 1° for me this morning. Roof had a smattering of snow and standing water was frozen over.
Very cold for November.
Still stuck in the 6°'s at lunchtime.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m

Another cold windy SW'ly day, 1mm rain, 22mm for the event. Sick of the cold, mud and wind. Looks like no flooding issues around this area outside of the fact that every river around here is in minor flood. Maybe we get a week off next week, maybe some storms with the arrival of humidity from the NE?

That looks intense. Must have been a huge amount of water. This last month has certainly been one for the record books. Record wet for VIC, NSW and the MDB. Dominated by strong positive SAM.

Few showers down here again. Snow on the mountain. Still just getting dribbles mainly. Not our event.

Major pattern change next week, but progs jumpy so not settled.

We’re still getting regular showers here. I spotted a further 8.5mm in the gauge since last post just on sunset.

There was some flooding in a low lying street in Warragul that forced council to close the road and saw water lapping at the perimeter of properties. First time I’ve seen that happen in my 9 years living here.

And more showers inbound with the next front sweeping through tonight to keep the water levels up…

16mm here to start the month. Got down to 3.8c this morning. It’s not especially unusual for November here, as we usually have the odd cold night right up to summer, but it certainly felt cold after getting used to a bit of warmer weather.

Only 10.6c as a max yesterday, with plenty of showers and hail at times, and only 13c today. I’m actually looking forward to a few days of dryer weather to finally cut the lawn, which is now way overgrown.

20mm for November, 955.5mm ytd.
(November max temp is running about 10C below average - fairly small sample size :) but no wonder we're burning so much firewood.)

Ended up with 15mm to this morning. Takes us to 75mm MTD only three days in and 150mm+ Over the past fortnight.

Still getting the odd light shower this morning.

Really hoping that the dry warmth currently forecast comes through next week.

Nice weather today. Although the weekend of Nov 12-13 has me a bit concerned again...

Yet another cold westerly day here, all rivers/streams from Maffra to Melbourne are either elevated or in minor flood I saw today. Yarra R a banker at Richmond. For here, looks like yet another dodged bullet (circa 7th event in a row) - with most water fitting into the brink-full Macalister/Thompson/Latrobe rivers with only minor flood spillage.

A thundery period looks likely Sun-Wed for Vic? Warm and muggy would make us think that summer arrived overnight out this way!

Nice day here yesterday, and today looks ok. Real kick in the sun despite a cool breeze. Much warmer air incoming for the week ahead. Only question is how much cloud, rain and humidity. 40C temps make it about half way south in South Australia. Fortunately stays north of us all.

Not sure if people saw the news that the US has just reached a record area of drought. The previous record was back in 2012. Pretty remarkable see-saw going on atm, between those on the western and eastern parts of the ENSO cycle :?

Hopefully this link for the drought in the USA works -- https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/
