After thinking it was all over, we just had a very intense shower which dumped another 4 mm in 10 minutes for a total of 8 mm in Cohuna, looks like lots of showers are materializing in the wake of the rainband now.
...from the border of the Mallee and the Northern Country, just south of the Murray.
Just a few showers last night giving us 4.2mm to 9am. Otherwise today has been mostly sunny and the temperature pushed into the low 20's. A wonderful day here but we should get some okay totals on Thursday with the southwest surge and catch up. Waiting for those photo's John ... Sorry, had to bring that up again. Only kidding with ya mate!

Ah well mate you have had plenty of rain this year probably not a bad thing that you didn't get much from this one it fell in the right spots including here had 18.5mm here and 19mm in the City and 20-40mm in the catchments so a good drop overall
Well, that one certainly followed the script, all the models picked it perfectly, except maybe timing was slightly off.
21mm here, it started raining solidly here around 6:30 this morning and then it was pretty much constant in Melbourne through to about 1:30pm. A cool one today thanks to all the cloud and rain. The widespread nature of the rain from the NW to central districts is indicative of how our climate has returned nearer to normal in the past 6 months. We haven't been getting those isolated dumpings of rain hanging about the one part of the state like we were getting in previous years.
Quite remarkable to come home to relatively dry ground. It's sodden but no surface water. Quite a bit in drains and creeks on the side of the road etc. but it looks like it's all sunk straight in here.
Most noticeable thing for me the last 6 months is the return of upper level troughs/cold pools, and the lack of any significant jet which would usually fracture the rain band on approach into Vic. 23mm here which is spot on ECs forecast, in fact it clearly is the premier model after getting jittery feet.
I like Thursday, good upper lever trough, very sharp, moving through in the afternoon, would not surprise to some totals exactly like today again.
And further, both EC and GFS now have a cyclone progged for NW WA for next week...if that moisture finds it way down here could be decent event again in a fortnight if it does in fact develop.

TAP TIMERS. few bucks cant live without them.
Also kids cant turn them on as easy if the timer has clicked back to 0, they have to push a little button in then turn the timer then the tap needs to be turned on.
Although Im sure your not the first to do that, hence why we have 7 tap timers in our yard.
PS where is here that you got your 15mm..?
