Becoming warm ahead of a stronger cold front: March 16-20

2.4mm here in Ringwood North - enough to slightly dampen the parched ground for a few hours. Up to 6mm total for March so far now. After 13mm in February - 9mm of which came from a freak standing storm exactly a month ago today.

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

Ended up with 43mm in Ringwood North, around half the November average. After a wet October and very dry September, spring overall a bit below average. Nov was on track to be the driest on record for me in 40 years, but the last week pushed it back into just "well below average" territory.

Re: Strong front followed by a week of westerlies: May 25-

15mm so far this morning in Ringwood North. We just hit 100mm for May second month in a row, and 8 of the last 10 months above average. The BoM forecast has consistently underestimated the rainfall. We have got over the top end of the estimated range every time in the last few months. This time they...

Re: Vic - arrival of an East Coast Low from N NSW 29/3-4/4/22

2022 is playing out like 2012. A wet late-Feb/Early March, then no rain for the rest of March and April. It got cold after Anzac Day, and Winter 2012 was decent for Alpine snowfalls well into September. We've had one wet day in the last 5 months. March 5th - 38mm. Other than that - driest summer in...

43mm here, very heavy overnight, all the gutters overflowing. That's more than January and February combined! Should start to green things up a bit.

1mm total so far for March, bringing me to 49mm YTD. Still very crunchy underfoot. Maybe some rain on the weekend. Hate the humidity.

Re: Cool to mild 15 Feb - ?

Unbelievably, given it's a La Nina year and some of the huge rainfalls we've seen in other parts of the nation - here in Ringwood, if we don't get any rain the next 2 days, it will be the driest summer I've ever recorded, in 30 years of records! Just 63mm of rain to date since the start of December ...

Re: Warm to hot with possible showers and storms later: January 19-2?

Here in Ringwood - finished with 37.1mm for January against an average of 47.6 - so about 10mm down on average - most of that (25mm) came in the last system, Thurs-Fri. Been extremely dry since mid-November apart from that, and crazy heat and humidity. No scorchers but consistently above 30 degrees ...

Re: Troughs with showers/ storms 11 Jan - ?

Well a bit more interesting this evening - lightning and thunder on and off for the last hour and a half. About another 1.5mm to add to 2mm earlier today. Seems to be about it though.

Re: Troughs with showers/ storms 11 Jan - ?

A few spots here in Ringwood - is that it? Everything so dry - one of the driest summers I can remember so far. We've had 28mm since the 16th of November.

Re: Lake Eildon

Amazing figures there! What really impresses me though is the sheer size of Lake Eildon, that these sort of inflows only increase it by 2.9%! It really is a massive body of water. I must get up there and have a look again soon. It will be good to see water under the Bonnie Doon bridge.

Why doesn't it seem to be going up on the G-M Water site? It's been stuck on 35.66 for about 4 days, thought it would be going up heaps. Are they taking water down the pipe?

Re: NSW Inland rain and storms 5th-8th March

Hi all - watching the Riverina rain with interest. Great to see it falling where it's needed.

I have to drive up to Wagga for work on Tuesday (from Melb). Am I going to run into any problems reaching the town?

Relatively unscathed here in Ringwood, some heavy rain for a while and a bit of thunder, but only 10mm in total. You could see it slipping by to the southwest.
