Just an unbias question ( no agenda involved) but how can we take your graphs DJ over those that others put up?? If someone was to rebut those figures, what would make they're viewpoint invalid?? Just because there have been graphs, charts, thesis posts etc about all things climate but on both side...

Tell you what gets on my goat. The news media. Just watched 7 News, reporting on the planned police blitz on knives - doing spot searches. Great, that's ok. But they go one step further and announce exactly where the blitzes will be - every inner suburban rail station between now and 10pm tonight. ...

Agree droughtbreaker there are far too many variables to consider grass colour in the cbd a guide to soil moisture. Same with suburban blocks, I am sure the sand belt are flat out keeping grass green anytime of year. I am comfortable betting that most public turf will be more yellow than green in Ju...

Well it could also be a range of things from soil type, wind, grass variety, mowing height and fertilizing. Without knowing all this info for the area, it seems to be bucking the trend from the lawns i have seen from the NW through to the east. The browning i am seeing is the natural slow down of wa...

Noticed today that the grass in Docklands along Wurrenjeri way has now turned yellow. It is only in damp spots/holes that the grass is still green. Is the grass going dormant yellow/tan or drying out yellow? I have yellow/tan patchy grass around me due to the lack of sunlight and shading (winter). ...

The grasses are going along wonderfully but as Anthony pointed out i think that the soil moisture more so than the heat that made it go nuts. Also importantly the nitrate laced rain that we have had since October from all the thunder storms has been free fertilizer falling from the sky. I have notic...

What sort of turf do you have hillybilly? A good judge of how much warmer things are at present will be when the summer active turf goes into dormancy, usually once the soil temps goes somewhere below 13-15 degrees, which is determined by the overnight minimum not the day time temps. I have to mow y...

I agree it has been a warm April and there is also a bit of mice plague on around the city. Although i find when looking for local indicators using exotic species of deciduous trees, berries, and fruit trees a less than ideal considering they are on non-local native. Exotic trees around Melbourne ar...

Got thumped here by that thundery rain, gutters overflowing, water tanks overflowing thank god it slowed down a bit. Spent a good 15 minutes out there sweeping water away from the house. Dropped around 20mm in about a half hour but heaps of it was sideways and not measured. Funny thing was the wind ...
