Re: Stormy Period - Nov 29th - Dec 4th 2014

One classic flash! But as per usual the typical disintegration when it hits the metro area!

Watching the radar and only the radar, right on cue, it is disintegrating as it hits the Metro border!

There is some great activity on the radar around Bordertown & Warracknabeal but will these be affected but will these be affected by the forcefield and be deflected southward!

Weather fail again!

The forcefield has evaporated the storms again and pushed them northeast again! $ydney has stolen our storms yet again!

Re: Victoria: Trough - showers/rain/storms - 13th-16th Dec 2

Something I have noticed recently.. Storms or rain approaching Melbourne from the west on the SW wind change. The SW wind change when it hits the bay it accelerates and skips quickly across it. What then happens is the line of storms or rain band then loses it's updraft and the whole line fractures...

Re: Victoria: Trough - showers/rain/storms - 13th-16th Dec 2

Exactly how I expected it to happen, other than 25 December 2011 & December 31, 2009/January 1, 2010. I found it fizzled for any other area than the South West. For the people in that area, it was good. It seems to evaporate when it hit the North West. It was as though there was large hand pushi...

I just checked the BSCH website and it has nothing for Victoria. How does this work? The SW of Victoria is having some really good stuff.

We did well today on weak convection. I'm feeling that we are going to have some really good storms this summer.

Re: VIC - Front/Trough, Warm Spell, Cool Change 28/03-04/04/

Where did it come from? BSCH was quiet. It was showing nothing there.

I thought it clear outside and then heard what sounded like thunder, I look at the radar and suddenly out of nowhere, BANG!!

These days, Storms are quality not quantity. We get several biblical flashes of lightning and BANGS of thunder. Storms must be downsized these days.

Noticed the same thing. Obviously, something wrong.

I would say it has just flattened out to a rain depression and that ends the storms.

Re: High Temperatures, High Humidity and Storms 26 Feb - Mar

Well that was a storm alright, heavy rain, thunder the works, easing up a little now but much heavier than the radar looked. Just had it on the 64km radar waiting for the cell near Tullamarine to find it's way here. It seems to have stalled. I have just noticed more behind it around Evansford &...

Re: High Temperatures, High Humidity and Storms 25~27 Februa

It has been a while since we broke 35, so I am not complaining but I have a feeling that something severe is about.

Each time I see more than one contrail during the day, thunderstorms are about. I saw one and another really large one this morning.
