37mm in the gauge. Decent autumn break!

Pouring rain here now. About 20mm so far. Reports of significant rain at Castlemaine starting to cause some issues.

Yes, gauge is faulty. They'll probably have to fall back on manual backup gauge if there's one.

Officially the driest March in Bendigo. 0.0mm. Although we have had rainless months in the past, especially Feb and even May.

No rain today as yet. Some showers out West, but it hasn't really kicked off. Waiting.

Really seeing some good rain totals across 90% of the forecast models now.

We managed 4mm on Tuesday. A very dry March. And nothing on the horizon either.

I very much seeing strong parallels with March 2016 - both in terms of sea-surface temperatures and a transition from El-Nino to LaNina.

We had a spectacular heatwave in early March that year (3x 39c days in a row, and 8 days in a row over 35c), before things cooled off.

The long weekend looks horrible in Northern Vic. Disgusting heat is likely.

On a brighter note - looks quite a bit cooler from March 12th onwards.

This reminds me of Feb 1995. A few stinking hot dry and windy days in late-Feb, before a cool March and April.

Wednesday does look quite dangerous. Could be a very gusty change.

Things are spiralling out-of-control between Ararat and Beaufort with a large bushfire bearing down on Mt Cole and nearby towns.

Very very dangerous, so stay well away from that region...

Where did that come from? Just got 14mm. A few flangs in the mix too.

Any chance the 500 kV towers going down near Lara was due to a tornado? Quite extreme damage tbh.
