Re: Strong front and cutoff low: May 20-25

Great storm last night - woke up the kids, the cats were howling as they hate heavy rain. Lots of hail too.

Pity that huge NW cloud band is not going to link up with the the front - it would be a great inland dumper if it did.

Re: Strong front and cutoff low: May 20-25

This is going to be a great year I think, negative IOD plus La Nina - we all remember the last time that happened. Looking forward to this next system and the ones to come :D

Re: Series of cold fronts 23-30 April

After this next system, it appears to go into high pressure dominance. Bit of a shame given the moisture availability to the NW and the current wet catchments ability to translate into healthy recovery for dam levels.

Slightly too westerly at the moment. That good band to the south is going to miss it seems as the Otways do their thing.

Re: Series of cold fronts 23-30 April

Lots of rain over night - great to hear it on the new roof and see the creek in flood. But cannot check the radar as a truck took out the copper line which is lying on the ground. Telstra won't fix until 7 May, so have come into work to speak to the Ombudsman - how do we home school/work from home? ...

And right on que my central gas ducted heating system breaks down. Won't even be able to call someone until Tuesday. Lucky the reverse cycle system is working - in reverse. Some nice heavy showers here after good 10mm overnight. At least the weather is providing something of interest.

40mm here. Monbulk creek is flooded, the biggest flood I have seen for years. Our local street went under overnight. New roof got a good test and no leaks! :D

Re: COVID-19 Discussion and Information

Oh my that's scary HB. Particular not being tested. But the symptoms sound really bad, I can imagine it would be like trying to breath at 6000 meters. Doing everything we can here to not get it - I am the only one leaving the house which is to go to work and when I am there I am in my office with th...

Re: Settled week then rain? 23-31 March

I rarely say this, but having my roof replaced next week so I don't want rain. Late next week is fine. Of course the whole thing may not go ahead if we go into a lock down.

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

A little drizzle overnight but things are getting dusty dry. We do need a good drop of rain. NBN is scheduled here for the 1st of May, I am hoping it stays on target because we are going to need that in the coming months. My 3mbps currently just does not cut it.

Re: Warm to hot with a change: March 17-20

Having the roof replaced the week of 30th of March so I desperately need fine weather that week. Of course as long as the contractors remain healthy and can actually do the job. Starting to dry out and I noticed some burn off activity recently. It's a wonder how they can ignite a very green bush cur...

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-26th Jan 2020

25mm so far, lots of red puddles about and lakes that are normally clear are brown. We are about as wet as mid winter here. I have family in Bendigo so I really wish it would rain there too - everywhere in fact.

Finished on 58mm here which was a great result. Everything is greening up, not just the Dandenongs but right into the suburbs. Great to see.

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-23rd Jan 2020

My rain gauge has recorded 45mm. Everything is soaked and the creek has minor flooding. It's still coming down strong. I think this about ends the fire risk here for this summer. Great to see the fire grounds in eastern Victoria get a good drop of rain. Hopefully enough to allow all of them to be co...

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-23rd Jan 2020

Hope we don't end up in the dead zone between the two rain bands. Both cannot be over us at the same time as they have different orientations. Really happy about the rain on the fire grounds. The far east Gippsland fire still missed out so hoping that area and south coast NSW gets some as the low he...

Re: Victoria - Warm then more rain - 13th-23rd Jan 2020

The dangerous thunderstorm at Lillydale is a right mover and drawing away from the Dangenongs. Interesting interactions with the seabreeze. Rumbles here but not expecting much from this first band. NE is not usually a good direction for Belgrave.
