Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??

A big fizzer here. We might be lucky to even get 5mm this weekend. Yet again the forecast models fail miserably. So much for the 20-40mm they were predicting just 2 days ago. I been stormchaser for 30 years is Bendigo is loophole always miss something and most of time Bendigo get hard hit storms at...

Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??

Very fast Wind shear and line thunderstorms firing up between East Mildura to Portland are moving Eastwards.

Damage winds are likey and looks stalling or eastward slowly.

Hard say sea breeze and or thunder cirrus clouds kill everything to east cool down.

Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??

I think the BOM storm forecast is very oversimplified for today. No real surprises there, just more of the same "all eggs in one basket" rubbish that we come to expect from the BOM. Going to be very much a hit & miss couple of days coming up. Been watching that cell down towards Wonth...

Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??

My rainfall recording of 2020 is well over average year for Kangaroo Flat South

Year Average 550.1mm

724.6mm rain dumped in 2020.

Wettest Month is April of 218.5mm

Today the trough axle will move Westward slowly as might be tricky think West get nothing yet.

Re: Finally a storm outbreak first week of the New Year??

Felt cooler summer and some colder night below 10c , thats ok save power bills only used 4 days of air conditioning this December.

Hope SE Victoria have nice rain and storms all way through New Year and the trough sits far West Victoria thats helps not dry out in West part.

Queensland needs heavy monsoon bring humid to Victoria get good thundery rain.. We dont know if our SAM will be more Easterly or NW tra...
