Dry slot from NW is absolutely killing it. Stawell and Grampians has done alright. We'll just get a tiny remnant. The drought continues here.

Steady rain here since 5am. We are currently right in the Middle of that rain band. Almost 14mm's so far
with 8mm of that since 5am.
Not a great morning to be out on the School Crossing which I will be in just over an hour. :x

Finally starting to rain now. Windy too. Which means it'll all slide South in a hurry.

System right on track. For much of Vic the next 24 hours should bring close to a months worth of rain (January averages are not that high ;) ). The rainband will move across and eventually weaken a bit, but storms will then develop in the clear air ahead of the incoming front. The front pushes through Melbourne around this time tomorrow, with storms likely.

Expecting about 40mm here.

Two more parts to this system with a deep low early in the week and another for about this time next week :o

You’ll do fine. Should see at least 20mm, and could well get 50mm. Hopefully this one makes up for a few recent duds. Looks to me like the biggest falls will probably be more towards the Grampian and western parts of central.

I'm struggling to see it tbh. Charlton is getting a bucketing (now up to 35mm), but the rain is all West of here. Radar tells a story.

Seems to be slipping south a little so we'll probably get the northern tip of it which should give us 5mm.

Not relying on anything happening tonight or tomorrow morning.
Relying on storm development for rain is like hoping to win the lottery.

I think I'll end up staring at Rainbow radar all day.... Some interesting development in the Mallee atm.

GFS handles tropical systems far better than all the other ones. Hence my disdain for the rubbish predictions of 30-80mm.

The radar is looking good, with the large slow-moving rain band plus development behind it. Steady rain here for the past hour or so and 5mm so far.

Having some egg for breakfast here :). 30mm and still coming down.

Interesting watching the SWW for heavy rainfall expand at least twice in the last few hours, first to include us, now western Melbourne.

Some SES callouts for localised flooding now. Maryborough particularly hit hard.

Has just picked up a notch here, absolutely bucketing down now. This is certainly going to make the already messy situation with the roads around here even worse.
