Yes, gauge is faulty. They'll probably have to fall back on manual backup gauge if there's one.

Bit of improvement on the 0.8mm's that I and the airport got last month.
Was the driest March on record at the airport beating the 2.2mm's that fell in March 1923. The zero rain that Ballarat got in 1923 was in April.

Fantastic event for central Victoria and nearby parts. Two months of almost zilch then a months worth of rain in 12 hours. All very normal

Great for northern half of Tasmania. Not so great for southern Tasmania. Progs basically picked this. Had just 6mm here so far. Freshens things up, but not enough so far. Quite patchy around here with some spots near 20mm while other spots are yet to crack 5mm.

Pretty quick clearance today for much of Victoria, and a bit slower down here ahead of a cold windy Wednesday.

What a system! At least 55mm here, although suspect it could be higher (haven't replaced my gauge yet).
The Deer Park gauge down the road is showing 67mm according to Melbourne Water.

Best overnight result in a very long time here.

45mm here. Amazing how widespread decent (25mm plus) totals are through a large swathe of VIctoria. Great system!
