Thanks Robyn!

Today we see a return to hotter conditions after a cool 25.9c max on Wed.

I think we will fall short of the forecast max of 40c, maybe by a degree or so, many would be nice... lol! Thankfully the next few days it cools down a bit, with SW winds tomorrow and tending southerly on Sun and Mon.

GFS is forecasting widespread unstable conditions this week, but in the absence of any trigger I am thinking that not much will happen, with the exception of today and tomorrow where a low pressure trough lies in the west of the state.

Currently there are pulse storms in the Lower Western where DPs are high (Ivanhoe reached 19.9c at 2:30pm), and also isolated high-based storms in the western Riverina. Steering shear is weak so they won't be long lasting, but good to be under for lightning shots.

Don't think I have seen that much activity on the Mildura for a while!

Looking like a pretty dry outlook for the state except for the alps for the end of the week.

EC run 12Z 0907 is now showing the south westerly flow is going to drop around 3 feet of snow on parts of the NSW Alps in the next 10 days.

Looking at some nice warm temps on the east coast till Tuesday. Sydney and the Hunter looking at 5-7° above average Sunday to Tuesday. Nobbys Head currently at +1.8° this month for both min and max. Be close to a record for July (+2.1).

On second glance Nobbys Head needs to get to +2.4° for record . The record was broken in 2018 and last year.

Can anyone point me to the BOM climate data for Lake Macquarie or Nobbys head.?

I can't find it on their climate data site.
Does BOM have observations sites at these locations?

Well l'll be 'hasan' . I never new that was there. 8-)
So can l find the same at BOM, re Nobbys head data? I couldn't see it on their main obs page?
I don't want to go to WZ cos they closed the forum and are run by ch 9, politically correct brain washing organisation. and their climate reporting is very hot and dry biassed l find.
..........

Anyway, thats my rant for the morning.
ACC G is giving the SW of NSW a precip',signal on monday the 29th July.
A small tropical dip in isobars and some weak upper support .

On tuesday a decent precip' signal on the coast near your area. Mid to north coaxt.
Gee we finally have some wet stuff to talk about
cheers

The calender spring is here in a week. There are signs the surface synoptic pattern is changing .
August 29th 2019
A big tropical dip in isobars off the coast of east Australia draws tropical moisture down to a low off the NSW .Some of this wetstuff is directed onto the coast via a SE onshore flow.,This be a welcome break from the winter dry spell.
It is a coastal system but should benefit those living along the east coast from east Gippsland to the mid QLD coast.

It's nice to have a thunderstorm rolling across Sydney. There doesn't seem to be much rain, at this stage, where I am (Sutherland Shire).
