Warm to hot with possible showers and storms later: January 19-2?

Dead calm here, but big lumpy cumulus everywhere looking very much like they're about to dump... although apparently not, according to the forecast.

Was a bit surprised to see quite a lot of convection around here too, but it obviously didn’t amount to anything. It’s mostly sunny now.

Looks like a long, mostly dry stretch ahead of us now. Might even be our first below average month for rain since August.

I love these warm evenings, it has been a pretty decent summer this year. A bit humid but the lack of blasting hot northerly’s has been great. My poor parents in the Perth hills, just endured their 16th day above 40c this summer with 44.5c a few days ago…

Its been an amazing summer best in years days of warm to hot and sunny weather after a hot humid and very stormy January

Awesome weekend ahead and more warmth next week but no humid air, no trigger, no big rain and storms, quite 2 3 weeks of weather ahead

Never been to the beach so much as this year and agree the evenings are just magic winter will kill me this year

18th day above 30c so far this year 2 more this weekend

I personally despise these late-summer runs of seemingly never-ending anticyclonic weather. Today there’s a bit of convection about but that looks to be as exciting as it’s going to get for the next 10 days at least.

After 102.75mm in January, we've had another 9.75mm over the past 10 days to keep things looking green. Royal Maffra has never looked as good in mid Feb.

But after 31.5 yest, and 35.5C today (only our 3rd "hot day" so far this year), things will yellow off quickly. The curator has put out sprinklers in selected locations.

Irrigation supply is no issue, Lake Glenmaggie is still 86% full.

One more rain event (none seeable in next 10 days) - and this summer will be put to bed imo.
