Brad's photo's (weather, pano's, birds and other stuff)

Post by Hamlan »

Thought I'd consolidate my pics into one thread as I had some new images to add. John and I will continue to post our stormchase pics and reports in the other existing threads of course.

These shots are replicated in the USA storm chasing thread. They are wide angle shots (10-22mm lens) stitched together in photoshop. Enjoy!

I have recently been lucky to encounter some beautiful birds of prey while on road trips in rural Victoria. Here are my efforts at capturing these very elusive and alert birds. I recognised the eagles but feel free to identify each bird as I have very little knowledge on the subject.

Thanks Meso, I couldnt help but shoot that tree when I saw it. Its a sequioa from memory and very tall (although I saw Giant Sequioa's in the USA this year and this was a baby!) located at Geelong. I shot it using tripod and HDR technique.

Great set of photos, Brad! Well done! Dont think ive ever seen a wall cloud/updraft base like that in Australia! Reminded of violets I've seen on YouTube from Reed Timmer! And it's only October! Some of the inflow...wow! Would love to chase with you guys sometime!

Thanks Greg, Im happy to share what I see out there especially for those like you who share the passion! Im sure we'll catch up eventually on a chase. Chaser convergence is becoming a real possibility out there with some of these systems moving through north and central Vic this season.

Hi, ive been processing my old US storm photos with new software lately (so I can update my website and get it back online) and got to these ones from 2007 which brought back memories I thought I would share. This supercell had several reports of tornadoes including one we saw it produce near Guymon Oklahoma.

Brad.

Think I got carried away with the explanation marks in that semi-drunk 1am post there, haha. Anyway, The Reed Timmer comment was in relation to the few photos from about #7 onwards that reminded me of the storm in this clip - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Check the wall cloud at about 20 secs in to the clip, somewhat similar).

Yeah, seems to be our version of tornado alley through this part of the state lately...only without the tornadoes :| Hopefully next time we get a good setup a few of us can meet up out there!
