Thanks Jane! Yeah, was a very rewarding day, especially considering the expectations weren't too high.

Brad, at least give us a teaser!

Meso, tonight I promise! I didnt see your photos before. Good stuff. I can relate to the 'whatever happens' attitude too. Good to see you got onto some of those cells further north and got some ground hugging action and scud upmotion too!

John, at first glance I thought that was debris flying around in the air, then I realised it was birds lol.

Some sweet greenage there tho! Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Great shots Brad!! Like the 'debris cloud' in your shot John!

Great to have everyone on the same storm.

Would it be possible for people to identify their location for each shot and the direction you are looking - would help get some perspective on what the 'armchair' and 'office' chasers are seeing when we / they aren't there.

Great photos - thanks again to all.....I enjoyed the chase!

Tks Lily, Hamlan & Meso and great shots Hamlan & Meso. Hamlan and TU, you're right, it appears we were near Mt Alexander at the same time. Jane, the photo before the Mt Alexander ones is on the road between Maldon and the Calder Hwy, the one before that is on the road between Lockwood and Maldon, and all the preceding ones are in the Shelbourne-Lockwood area. The one after Mt Alex rainbow is near Sutton Grange, while the last one is on the road to Metcalf.

ULD wrote:Thanks for kind words Sniper, John and Jane. John, I was in blue Mazda 6 - glad you had a top chase. The Mt Alexander photo doesn't do the structure justice, unfortunately and the rear end vista heading from Maldon to the Calder was also notable. I did go past Mt Alexander but couldn't get a sealed north south road while I drove east towards Redesdale. Must admit I was getting a bit blase (sp?) at that point. I did venture south down the Metcalfe road (last photo) but was worried about getting stuck on an unsealed road in adverse conditions. The ground hugging scud yesterday was something I haven't seen too often. Thank you Victoria!

Nice report Michael!! I think we have crossed paths out near Avoca once chasing middle level storms back a while! Small world!!

Hopefully we can bring you back again to this state for more storms next weekend :P E Coast just getting rain events at the moment :(

Love the pics Brad/John. Looks like it was an amazing cell! Some of those lowerings from the base are incredible.

And can I just add how epic this storm season is already shaping up to be? Quite a few intense storms already and it's only the middle of October!

Ok here are some hastily processed pano's (hastily shot too I might add!) of the supercell and its many wall cloud and funnel iterations:

Gotta say awesome pics in here, great job Rikki, Michael, Meso, John and Brad
Was considering going up north on this day, but decided to stay local (though wish I could be in 2 places at once lol)

Here's a few pics from Edithvale on Tuesday

Yes that's right Karl. Not quite a bust chase that one, but the highlight from it was the smell of wet gum leaves north of Daylesford. Lovely panos Hamlan. Beautiful guster AUS_Twisted.
