Yep nothing much to be excited about. It felt nice and warm, cloudy and humid, which was nice, but that's about it. Had me dreaming about how good the weather must be in other parts of the worldhillybilly wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 5:35 pm Up in Sydney for work so missing all the excitementThat said, bands are pretty patchy

Pretty exciting here with two separate thunderstorms a few hours apart. 10 cent hail, thunder, lightning, and then torrents of small hail blocking gutters. Neighbours had water running down inside walls.
10mm in the gauge so far but the real total would be much higher with a lot of the hail bouncing out of the gauge.

Just under 14 mm for us at Mansfield so on of the better falls for the state. Optimistic for another 10 mm overnight and tomorrow.

6mm here with a few rumbles of thunder. Currently 9c, dead calm, and a brief shower passing by at the moment. I drove through some heavy rain and lightning through the outer northern suburbs early this evening. Looks like it has been fairly hit and miss with a few areas getting quite a good downpour. Seems it was quite the event in Gordon!

Must have hammered down here about midnight with a peak rainfall rate of 114mm/hr and a quick 5mm. Managed to sleep through it
Had 14mm now, so slowly dragging that October total up. Our MTD is a bit over 50mm. Better than most of Vic, which is really struggling as one of the strongest positive IODs in our records relentlessly squishes convection in the eastern Indian Ocean
Today looks showery, though mainly focussed near the coast and the usual wet spots. Quite chilly for mid October.

Up to 12 mm here and showers have started again. 5C and windy, so quite wintery again.
Baw Baw snow cams looking good - they are copping a lot of post season snow up there; favoured by the southerly systems.

Cold wet one in the Nongs. A further 12mm today (since I emptied the gauge) and a winter max of 10C. Suspect we got some small hail, but not around to see it. Puts us on about 26mm for the sequence, so tracking pretty well as you'd expect for us in unstable NW to SW flow.
Pretty miserable day in the city - light showers blowing sideways - but a paltry 0.6mm of rain
BTW Chaser, reckon that post belongs in one of the other areas. Not so relevant to the current weather situation.
Next frontal sequence lining us up in the bight for a showery weekend. Bit of a shame as I'd like prefer the warm days to be on the weekend and the showers during the week

Showers really lining us up now. Had a series of heavy ones with small hail. Classic spring coldie weather.
Rapidly approaching 30mm, so a bit of a surprise out here (EC was suggesting around 15mm). Setting up some big contrasts across the city, with our MTD gone past 60mm, while the city and nearby is stuck around 15mm.
EC update is looking very showery for the weekend. Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another 20mm here. Hard to believe it will be around 30C this time next week, but there is heaps of hot air to our north that will dive south with a sniff of northerly.

Frost here this morning. Zero degrees. Redesdale down to -2c
It looks as though the Wimmera wasn't as bad with most minimums above 1c.

Down to 3C here this morning, with a crisp brilliantly blue sky. Garden is too damp for frost. Looks like a beaut day ahead of a gusty swly change which will hit very late. Showery, mainly about the coast and hills.
Will usher in a cool damp weekend in the south, cool mostly fine in the north.
Garden is loving this proper spring weather. Photo yesterday was during one of the coldies with fog, rain and hail alternating and sometimes all at once

Yeah, I think most dodged a bullet since any frost would've been only brief in most areas.
We ended up with 7mm this week. Very welcome before the hairdryer next week. But just 8mm so far this month which is sad

Down in Walkerville for the night where it is wild
Gales and squally rain showers. The temperature dropped 7C when the change hit and the clouds dropped to the ground so base around 150m. Had just less than 4mm. The water was really high on west facing beaches with a big storm runup, while the beach at Walkerville was really low as it faces east
Around Tarwin the water was just cms from the road.
Not so much at FC with the lack of moisture really impacting this front as you go north. Starting to look less good for the weekend.
