Mild morning here, and an increasingly showery afternoon. 4.4mm so far. Looks like one heavy burst to come, then that’s about it for October (maybe a bit of drizzle Wednesday). MTD is 90mm, though that’s 40mm below average so our run of good months comes to and end :(

Progs still holding out a decent thundery rainband for the coming weekend. Cutoff for decent falls seems to be about Geelong to Bendigo which is often where these systems tend to fire.

EDIT> quick 4mm with that band, so on 8.6mm now for the day. Event just over 20mm so doing pretty well (EC had 10-20mm coming into it). Peak rainfall rate of 111mm/hr so not messing around :o

A few moderately heavy showers this afternoon and 4mm. Had 43mm MTD, so unfortunately quite a bit below average. Suspect this will be the case for most areas this month.

A little surprised to see a minimum of 4.5 degrees this morning. Patchy fog too in the paddocks.

9.0mm in the gauge this morning. Makes just on 22mm for the thread. Probably a touch more than I expected. Got pretty luck with direct hits from three small cells (Friday AM, Saturday PM and Sunday PM) which boosted our total nicely by about 10mm between them. Unfortunately our local AWS is playing up.

Back to summer this week, and will get quite close to October records on Thursday in the northwest. Then a thundery rainband for the weekend. New thread time.

Still quite a bit of divergence across the latest models for this weekend. The only consistency is that northeast vic is predicted to have some solid falls, but central vic is looking good on some models, such as GFS, but less so on others, such as EC. Hopefully it will consolidate soon and fingers crossed something decent actually emerges for central parts. Max of 21c here today - my ideal temp when it comes to having warm summery weather. Might reach 30c here tomorrow but more likely high 20s.

They posted on Twitter @ 5:07 AM "we have an outtage with our internet service nationally" and were working to fix it.
