Has now drizzled here without stop for 24 hrs, 14mm from it all, 34mm for this thread. Its still thickly drizzling and might continue for another night if what I feel is a weak upper low, over Sth central NSW, remains a feature tonight?:

30 in August? Highly doubtful. In fact, very highly doubtful
Unless you're talking about Darwin?
Give it time. We had a 29.9C on September 12 in 2009. Spring is the fastest warming season with records being broken at incredible rates. I get that you don’t accept the science, but the data are pretty clear cut. Next week will bring mid 20s in parts of the south. Would not be surprised if Avalon got close to 30C, and similar the odd spot in Gippsland. Not quite early or warm enough for metro, but that’s only a matter of time.
We had around 15mm for the week here, mainly front ended towards the early part of the week with just some dribs and drabs over the past few days in the easterly leftovers.
Continue to get regular rain here, but just not the bigger dumps we normally receive for this time of year.
Gippsland already had some max temps in the mid 20s from a foehn wind a few weeks back, so think it’s probable to see some top out near 30 next week in the exposed spots out this way.
Last rain for this thread fell here yest arvo. We tallied a very handy 38mm spread over the past 8 days. Set for spring, esp. if next weekends change delivers after a warm week!
