Small cells to the north, south, east and west of me today, but only a weak dying one overhead. One audible rumble and just on a mm in the gauge. Was a doozie about 5km southwest of me and another about 2km east. Drove through the one to the east with torrential rain and small hail. Local amateur gauges showing 10-15mm in quick time. Nice structures but never really able to get a clear shot.

Great to see the bumper falls through the usually arid northwest and western suburbs. Few spots on the monthly average already.

Drizzle and low cloud to push in for tomorrow ahead of the next system for Sunday. Sunday looks a chance for rumble and same Monday.

Starting to watch the weather at our new place in Tasmania. About 25mm of easterly drizzle last 24 hours. Going to be interesting having a climate which occasionally picks up solid falls coming in from the Tasman Sea :D

A drizzly, foggy morning here and 11c. We've had another 15mm since yesterday, which brings the event total to just a touch above 81mm.

Heavy drizzle verging on rain this morning with thick fog. 15mm in the gauge. Event doing well. Almost 55mm now.

Should get convective this arvo and a chance of a rumble, particularly eastern parts and near the ranges.

3.6mm to 9am, 28.8mm for this event. Pretty good event when that fall would probably be one of the unlucky lighter falls within central and eastern parts of the state.

QldTwister wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 8:50 pm Yeah didnt rain as much in North country, NE as thought but still local falls in the 60 to 90mm range and much of the state has receive 30 to 50mm with isol places in the Otways over 200mm :o :o
Also sure number places in the sourthern Mallee in the 50 to 100mm range with 2 days of sationary rain showers and TS

Hit and miss showers and storms today near 50mm in far northern burbs and near nothing next suburb over
Nice downpour in city with that thundery shower moving through

20mm yesterday, 26mm for the event much of Melb had 20 to 40 as forecast

Looking ahead wet week next week fronts on Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs Fri so sure many in south will see another 15 to 30mm for the week with isol 50mm for those that do well in W SW steams SW coast, NE ranges and E NE of Melb in the hills.
Back to winter next week snow down to 1100m at times and windy too cold Thursday

Active weather pattern rolls on, looks like will be mostly light showers for northern Vic
Love your posts Twister! And yes free BOM were pretty good with forecast amounts and duration of this period. Exact locations were always going to be hard to pick. If the weather was totally predictable, it wouldn't be as much fun to discuss it. Anyway happy to see the La Nīna starting to makes it presence felt.
About 35mm here bayside for the period is good and of course the humidity helps moisture retention in plants.

@hillybilly - hope you'll keep posting here after your move to Eastern Tas.

We had a storm loom in from NW last evening that died on our doorstep, then another storm late this arvo for a tally of 8.75mm. That takes me to 73.75mm for this thread. I heard that Sale copped heaps of rain from several storms that tracked down along the Strezleckiis from early arvo today. Samboz will fill us in on that I'm sure.

Yeah pouring thick drizzle this morning, really wet, another 4mm this morning makes 30mm for the event.

Everyone has done well, big soaker for much of the state and for some to much, but always happens with these events but most got a solid soaking

Next round of rain in SA already on the way no real break but only light falls tomorrow with few rumbles about
Showers and colder monday with next front, easing Tuesday, back Wednesday night into Thursday.
Bring on the heat and stroms

Nice foggy night up here, but just 0.4mm in the gauge. Short break now… about 12 hours… before the next system. Classic spring weather atm :D New thread.

We got another 7mm in bonus heavy showers and drizzle overnight. The showers in the late arvo were thundery looking and produced tropical style rain - not big drops, just incredibly dense compared to our usual.

Pushes us to 64mm now for this thread. Hoping for some sun today before another wet spell (theee more conventional fronts looks to favour our area).

Another weak/brief storm developed here 5pm, it and some light rain with tonights first frontal band probably has put 1.5mm more into my gauge. 0.5mm poured out before it took us to 74mm for this thread. What a spring for Gippsland!

To finish off the events total rain @ home/Sale 65mm plus 14mm from Saturdays storm and another 8mm in yesterdays (Sun) storm
late arvo', all up = 87mm :D

One of the best SPRING breaks for the local farmers in the last 20yrs at a wild guess, could be longer.
