Copped a strong storm here this evening, 11mm and many close lightning strikes. Lost power once.
Here’s a few pics of the gust front coming through ahead of the main cell. Had some pretty nasty squalls. Did have a tinge of green to it but the pics don’t do it justice.

Cracking storm here. Didn’t last long but very welcome 10mm. Did even better at the near place with nearly 40mm around Howden
Glad not to get any hail. Winds were wild but again only brief so not much damage about

Had a green tinge
Lots of great videos and photos on FB..
Didn’t get a chance to enjoy it due to home renovations,
But the washing on the line trick worked a Treat..

Non stop action with GFS keen for deluge mainly Eastern Vic mid week
Plenty of wiggling with models but something is brewing

Looks rather uneventful now
All the focus is on NSW instead going to get hammered

Currently raining here in Cranbourne West. Big drops. But with sunshine.
Loving my 0% chance of rain today.
Thanks BoM. Luckily it looks to be very isolated and short-lived

Just noticed that EC is mooting 100+mm for Maffra on its latest run (not yet available on WZ). Something to monitor.
We got 136.25mm rain in November, but only 4mm since 27/11/21.

But wait... crazy divergence 4 days out: for us, EC & ACCESS have us down for 40mm by Friday morning, GFS just 5mm.
Is it just me or have the models lost it lately?

The forecast models have been clueless.
Anyway, things are drying out quickly here. Not really any rain in forecast. Cooler week coming up after today, but indications of a heatwave the week after. Something to watch.
The grain crops immediately North of Bendigo have mostly done very well.

One loud rumble that sounded like a boulder rolling across a tin roof, then nothing.
Storms were brewing up all around us but now they seem to be moving away.
Better luck later in the week maybe?

Just pulled these rainfall forecasts off Windy.com -
https://www.windy.com/-Rain-accumulatio ... ccu,next3d
EC 3day-10.5 5day-42.2
GFS -30 -43
ICON -69 -191
It is fair to say the models are a little "lost it lately".

Had a slow moving high based storm for 30 mins before, delivered 3mm. Perfect after a 26.5C day.
A follow up non stormy rain band has just set in.

Cool and cloudy this morning. We had about 1mm yesterday evening. Not expecting any rain for the next 2 weeks.

First appearance of the monsoon trough/ITCZ on the BOM synoptic chart for this storm season, a few hundred kilometres south of Java (then oscillating north in the next few days). Bring it on!
In some years Melbourne gets great flow on affects from the monsoon hitting the Australian mainland, and I suspect this year is going to be one of them.
