Yep. Looks like the worst of it is making it's way up and over the top end of the bay. I'd say some of the SE suburbs are going to get smashed shortly as it all pulls together again on the other side :o

Probably the most intense rain I’ve ever seen in Melbourne here in Box Hill. Not very lightning active but still a solid 9/10 for me. I’m glad it wasn’t as destructive as it looked an hour or two ago as well!

Amazing to see so many black cores still forming on the radar even at this time of day.

Step one of my prediction initiated. The cells have died over the bay. Step 2 (reforming in some unheard of forest town) will soon begin haha

Last roll of the dice with a couple of black cored cells 50km West of here...

One of the best Storm days I have ever seen out in the Western Suburbs. I've only been at my current place in Truganina for about 18 months.

Seen about 4-5 Storms roll through here today, torrential rain, followed by steamy sunshine and humidity only for the next storm to roll on in.

Amazing day from the minute I woke up!

Will get totals from the Nylex in the morning.

Was about to mention that it looks like something on the way for Bendigo over the next hour or so.

Think that’s about it for us here apart from the possibility of some drizzle overnight or tomorrow morning. Otherwise, finished today on 24.5mm and the event on just over 51mm. That’s pretty much in the upper range that was forecasted by most of the models and model runs for the overall event here.

Incredibly it's dying on our doorstep.

We actually got 18mm this late arvo - little line looks like it comings towards us now. So fingers crossed another 10mm!

Good to see most of Melbourne score this arvo, though a big miss for the northeast burbs.

Down here Hobart's northern and eastern suburbs got slammed. Huge slow moving storm. Spot falls for the day of 80mm which is about two months worth of rain for a usually fairly dry area. We missed it mostly here, but still lots of booms and flashes. 26mm for the event so far.

Slow moving thundery rainband in bound which should be worth at least another 10-20mm. Good way to end a long dry spell.

It was all around us yesterday evening (got some good cloud shots), but nothing here. First rain today - 1.2mm in drizzle so far:o :o :o
Even the ants got "dudded"!

Weather on the RH side lately, 60mm in Sale for event after approx 9mm yesterday.

Mt Moornapa still leads the way locally with 36m yesterday, most of that in 1.5hrs.

2.4mm here from drizzle, which started overnight and has continued for much of today so far.

Models are suggesting a fairly significant rain event for later next week, but it’s still too far out to bank on anything.

Yeah a bit unlucky in that pocket directly north of Melbourne. Hopefully the next major system will make up for it, but will the ants be prepared??

......and now Huey is sending up an "X factor" from the SW!:

Image

To me, would normally create a cut-off low in Bass Straight, ...if all the other factors weren't currently in play.
My bad call there, should have realized that the front was a slow mover, here is where it's reached 2 days later!:

Image

Anything created by the northern tip of the front now would only be affecting Tassie early tomorrow now I reckon.

Yesterday we got a lunchtime storm (with one ear bashing C-G in it) that delivered 6mm.

This took Maffra to a hand 41.5mm for this event. Things have greened up completely at Royal Maffra this arvo.
