Some small scattered hail in with the mix..

My Forecast went from 5-10 to 10-20mm. When did they sneak that in,
Nearby WZ states feels like 9.2c

Thunder, lightning, wintry hail, heavy showers one after another and 9.8 degrees at 1.30pm.

I love winter. Wait...what? It's the 3rd of February?

Been a cold one here in Ballarat. So far my Max has been 13.3c right now its 9.2c.
Had some squally showers one with a bit of Hail about 3.30pm.
12.6mm's up to 9am and a further 4.8mm's since then.
BTW here is a link to that February 2005 event that some of you have mentioned.
February 2nd was Ballarats coldest ever February day Max was 10.0c.
Heaps of rain with that system too

Further 7.5mm since last post from frequent showers, mostly overnight. Takes us to 24.5mm for the event.

Missed the best of the coldies here yesterday, but drove through a nasty one just east of Pakenham around 4pm yesterday arvo. I was surprised by how much lightning it was throwing out!

Someone forgot to tell Tassie it was meant to be cold :? 22C here yesterday and sunny. Stuck between circulations to the north and south. The photos and obs from the southern mainland are impressive, and btw how’s Queensland with DPs in the mid to high 20s. System of such e extremes,

Bit of rain here this morning, but overall is going to be another bust for most of TAS. Up until mid December we were having a great run, but since then flunked every system in the southeast. Been a pretty wierd La Niña summer with so much humid weather and easterlies but barely anything hooking up down here.

No coldies or waterspouts at Pt Lonsdale, but some massive 3-5m surf! 12mm for the event at home.

Noted yesterday in Adelaide around 1pm it was 12 degrees. Must be some sort of record.

29.8mm here for the event, including 9.8mm in the early hours this morning. Thankfully more than expected.

Might be the odd brief shower or drizzle here today, but otherwise things will be clearing up. Perhaps showers will linger a bit more over in the east.

Managed to etch out another 10mm through to this morning, with thick classic southwesterly drizzle setting in all day yesterday verging in rain at times.

34.5mm for the event. Magic for this time of year!

Picked up 9mm on Saturday so just shy of 15mm for the event. Best event for six weeks here :o Not been a good start to 2023 down here in the southeast.

Sunday was then strangely warm. 25C and sunny. Most odd after only 16C on the Saturday with thick cloud and drizzle.

Progs looking pretty unexciting. Lots of weak troughs but not quite getting there.

Very late report from a week in the Tasmanian highlands. Snow, graupel and thunderstorms on Friday 3/2 created a quite un-February landscape:

Meanwhile, 31.5mm of rain at home from this system - a good start for the month.
