Easterly trough with rain and storms: Mar 20-25

A slow moving pattern setting up with a strong upper trough feeding a surface trough in the easterlies. A couple of small lows are likely to form in the trough.

This looks like an eastern VIC and NSW event, with some lighter falls into central parts. Northeast Tas should also do ok.

Western Vic and southern TAS largely a miss :( in southern TAS will be under a high with very cold nights for March.

Soon after this system another low looks like developing over the bight so might be a productive week or two :D

It's March 21, and it's looking like a fizzer here. Just a few spots.

Next week might be more promising.

9mm here from that band of rain. Nice steady and soaking stuff, but was hoping for something closer to 15mm.

Yep, wrong month lol. I’ll fix.

All north of here. We did get a frost yesterday which was nice, but would like some rain pleased.

Good for eastern VIC, fizzer for Melbourne CBD which is slowly tracking towards its driest start to a year on record :?

Progs really jumpy for the next seven days.

Just 1.5mm here. A bit disappointing.

Next week looks more promising, although a bit all over the place according to the different forecast models...

A mere 2mm here yesterday. Fingers crossed for something reasonable next week, although it might not be all that clear for a little while yet.

Rumbles getting louder down Elwood way with this cluster moving in. Could be some flash flooding in the Melbourne area next hour or so

Where'd this come from?

Sirens at the golf course across the road just went off. I checked the radar and almost spat out my coffee.

Edit> thunder heard too

Wonderful! 13mm which will give the garden a good soak and looking at the radar some more may follow.
