Shrek 3D
Treated my fiance and myself out last night to see the new Shrek in 3D. I must say that the 3D aspect of movies works a lot better with anime than it does in real filming for the moment.
The story line is so so, with Shrek beginning to wish that he had never saved Fiona and wanting to have his old life back. Enter Ruplestilskin. A crafty little character with a huge goose... Deals were made and Shrek enters a alternate world, were things would have ended up if he didnt save Fiona. Fights his way through, blah blah blah, (no more here otherwise you might as well not watch the movie.... haha)
Now for the 3D aspect of it. Was good to see that extra depth of field, and there were a few times where it really looked like something was hovering right in front of you... But IMO its not quite up to standards even with the 3D shows that they had at movieworld and places of the sort. Toy Story 3 looks so far to be the only one that will live up to this, but thats another review another time.
Overall, the movie was a bit more dark than the first 3, and didn't quite have the whole 'fun' aspect of the previous Shrek movies. So i'm only going to give this a 5/10 review. Sorry dreamworks, but it could have been alot better than what it was....
On another note, Im not sure they should have really even made a new Shrek to be honest. I was speaking to the guy behind the ticket desk afterwards, and on the opening night (last night) over 4 screenings they only sold 36 tickets... I think Shrek might have lost his fame....
I live in a world where I dont see to believe, but I believe to see...
